Where To Get Free Welding

| I was contacted by email the other day and the Question was asked. Where can I get someone to weld something for me on my Car. I don’t know how to find a welder without going to the yellow pages and it costs a lot of money.
One thing I thought about was where can I get some good free welding done. This was something that I learned and figured that I’d pass on to everybody.
The local community or technical college in your area may have a a Welding department. I believe that the courses to become certified take a couple of years. This people taking that classes pretty much just practice welding scrap metal and have a project due and the end of the semester. This piece of advise is what I got from one of the instructors at the college. Call the college and ask for the Welding department. Ask for one of the instructors. Tell them that you need some welding done and you have a project and if they can recommend a student. Student get bored with practicing on scrap and would be glad to have a real life project to work on. If that is ok then bring the project by during class hours and get them to work on it.
