Paint Your Car Wheels

Hey there from Pimped Out Cars

I was thinking about a Honda Civic CRX that I owned awhile back and one of the rims developed a leak and had to be tossed. Well that meant that I was in for a trip to the junk yard. A trip to the junk yard now that is a whole post of its own.

Anyway, I was able to get my hand on a used rim, but it had some scratches and rust on it. It just didn’t look right. Before I decided to put a tire on it and drive around with one crummy looking rim, I got an idea. Why not paint it. Actually now that I think about it. It was the owner of the junkyard that mentioned it to me.

First thing was, how do I clean it and remove the rust. This is where I got help from the junkyard. He had a machine that sandblasted it. Normally he charged about $5, probably $10 now. Since he was nice and did it for free. Hmm an interesting way to get repeat buisiness. I remember a couple of years later that I to a bucket of bolts and door hinges from my truck and had him sand blast them for $5.

I then proceeded to head down to my local auto parts store and bought some enamel wheel spray paint. An hour later I had a brand new looking rims. It also lasted for many years. The only issue now was that it made my other rims look kind of bad.
