How to sell your car online
Hey there from Pimped Out Cars
I was reading a few blogs today and ran across some rants about the quality of pictures are taken for cars and trucks in an effort show them of or sell them online. Also with the advent of the digital camera, there is not excuse to not take decent pictures. In the old days you had to have a bank account to be able to buy and develop film to take enough picture to get something of quality.
As for the novice photographer, let’s just get a few amature tips on creating a quality picture for let’s say craigslist. Remember you are trying to sell your vehicle. I am going to give you some short tips on creating a quality ad and with quality pictures.
First, when taking quality pictures. Make sure that you take them on a nice sunny day and that you position yourself between the sun and the car.

Start with a clean washed car. Take a picture of the car from a 45 degree angle to get the front or back and the side.
Get the whole car in the picture. Make sure that the back drop is pleasant to the eye. Not other cars, shopping carts, garbage cans. bicycles, lawnmowers. Also keep your family members out of the pictures. |

I also like a side shot of the car.
Notice how the cars side shot is not directly from the side. Remember these are not mug shots. Have you ever seen a pretty mug shot? Also there are trees behind the car not people, other cars, family members. |

Also another shot that I particularly like is a front shot, close up from ground level.
Notice how good this picture looks. There is nothing distracting about it. It looks like it was cloudy and rainy the day that these pictures were taken, that is the only issue that I can see. If you saw these on a sunny day you would be amazed how much better that they would be. |

Also there is the money shot. Something special about the car that makes it stand out from the crowd. It could be rims or speakers in the trunk, some really cool graphics on the car or maybe the engine, but make it a close up that fills the whole picture |
Remember that this is a sale document.
Regarding the wording of the ad. Post basic information about the car.
Post Year, make, model, mileage, Any special maintenance or modifiaction to the car, Price and how to reach you.
Please don’t write, “Must see to believe”, I hate that.

Wow… the car look nice! Is it for sale?
….Yes, It was in the Dallas Craigslist
I fully agree with the author.
They say “A good picture worth 1000 words” and they are right.
Selling a car online is only good and successful if there are a few very, very good photographs of it.
I would add to the article above that a couple of pics of the interior are also needed and will help a lot.
Personally would recommend to CL having more than 4 poor quality pics available for upload, but taking in account that it’s CL with a huge traffic this is forgivable.
To all of you that like to try something else (which doesn’t mean don’t list on CL - just the opposite) please list your car for sale at 45 ADs - FREE car, boat, jet ski and car parts classifieds in addition to your CL, kijiji or backpage listing. Believe me it will help selling
